SCOTS FIDDLE FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES NEW VENUE FOR FIDDLE 2018 – THE PLEASANCE: 16-18 NOVEMBER 2018
The Scots Fiddle Festival, which is now in its 22nd year, is delighted to announce that it will be moving back under one roof for this year’s event.
Fiddle 2018, due to be held from the 16th – 18th November, is moving to The Pleasance - the well-known music and Fringe venue, owned by the University of Edinburgh. It has recently had a £6 million refurbishment, taking its facilities to a new level, with greater accessibility and space options, enabling the Scots Fiddle Festival to take place in one location.
Rosie Munro the SFF Artistic Director said “This is a really exciting move which will give us greater scope for the festival. It will allow us to be innovative while continuing to develop our core activities, creating an exciting new home for the Scots Fiddle Festival”.
Malcolm Gillies, Chair of the SFF said “We had a new committee, including myself last year, and now having one year under our belt, are now gradually making some changes. We see the move as a great opportunity for the festival, and one which will allow us to expand the offering, be maybe a wee bit radical, and moves us well down the road to becoming a genuinely sustainable and fun Festival.”
The programme and tickets for Fiddle 2018 will be released at the end of August.
